I am not the type of person to write companies to tell them about their dealers. However, I was very impressed with the politeness, business knowledge, and genuine concern that Clint gave to my family and myself during his recent visit to our home. I was not planning on spending near that much money for the products, but he was able to effectively convince me (without acting like he was “selling” me) to make a purchase. I ordered 2 CD’s (the Kids’ Collection and the School Set) and can’t wait for them to arrive. Kudos to your training program and to whoever selected this nice, young man to be a dealer for your company. Her name was Briana I am very moved that there are such nice young adults in the world, and feel like my parents…who purchased that big encyclopedia set for us when we were kids.” Real books not just the Internet”!!!! just wanted to thank your company and plug your sales people!!!
Just a note to let you know what a wonderful young man Peter is. If he personifies the representatives of Southwestern, then you are fortunate indeed. Peter showed up on my doorstep one evening around dinner time, started his pitch and since it was a hot Sacramento evening, I invited him in. We were just finishing dinner, and it seemed to me the kid needed to be fed. I offered to make him a sandwich and although he ended up with turkey, he was game enough to try some braunschweiger. Not to his liking, but we had a great chuckle that he was game enough to try it. Yes, ultimately I bought the 5-volume set for my grandchild because they’re beautiful books and I’ll enjoy reading them too. But probably because Peter was believable. He shared his background with us, noting that I was raising a grandchild and that he, too, was raised by his grandmother. She did a very good job. The night Peter delivered the books, he took time to explain how to use them, talk about his plans to leave for Africa to participate in an international program – I believe in Cape Town. We parted with a hug, and a grandmotherly caution to be safe. I wished him Godspeed. And I hope he knows he touched the hearts of a couple of people in Sacramento.

Hi my name is Wendy and I am writing to tell you that we had a young man by the name of Kenny come by our house this morning to tell us about your books. I thought you should know he was quite knowledgeable, professional and represented the company and the product very well. We bought the books from him and are pleased he will be coming back to bring them to us in August. He was a joy to talk to and I’m sure he will do well. We could have sat and talked with him for hours but, of course, he had to go on to some other homes. He seemed to be quite driven to do a great job and it definitely shows. We just wanted to tell you that he is great and we are excited about getting the books for our sons who are 14 and 11.
Brandi was in my neighborhood this week in Glen Allen,Va. She is a fantastic salesperson and quite persistent. She came to our house 4 times to try to catch me. When she finally did she was knowledgeable, friendly and so energetic. She was not afraid to sell and was very good with her presentation. The training must include name-dropping…she knew more neighbors than I did. I was impressed with her salesmanship and DRIVE. She must be mighty motivated to hit the pavement Mon-Sat from 8AM-9PM in this hot summer heat. I hope that her manager Brian and other supervisors praise her for a job well done. I am 35 and still can remember college, so I was impressed she was working so hard to pay for it. You are lucky to have Brandi. I know she will sell a lot of books this summer.
I just received a visit from a representative from The Southwestern Company. The representative’s name is Alla. She made my experience a very good one. She was very nice and presented the products in a professional manner. She did not make me feel that I had to buy it but I felt like I wanted to buy it, which I did. I think that the books will be very helpful in teaching my toddler about colors, animals, etc. I look forward to receiving my books within the next month and half.
